Shawsville Middle School Library
This is Ms. Atkinson's twentieth year as a school librarian with Montgomery County Public Schools and her tenth year at Shawsville Middle School.

The Shawsville Middle School Library empowers students to become independent learners, to locate and use information correctly, and to discover books they enjoy reading. We are committed to providing a welcoming and comfortable space for all students and staff.
Students visit the library with their English classes several days a month. Students use the library to research class projects, work on assignments, and check out books. Ms. Atkinson collaborates weekly with teachers to develop activities based on the American Association of School Librarians Standards.
Students may have two books checked out at a time. The loan period is two weeks.
About Ms. Atkinson, Librarian:
This is Ms. Atkinson's 21st year as a school librarian with Montgomery County Public Schools and her 11th year at Shawsville Middle School. She has a Master of Science in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Education, Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix.
